Dr. Carl Lauryssen M.D.

Carl Lauryssen, MD is the Olympia Medical Director at the Los Angeles institute for Spinal Care and Research. A dual board-certified neurosurgeon, Dr. Lauryssen previously served as Associate Professor for the Department of Neurological Surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He was also Chief of Spinal Surgery at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital, where he instituted the Spinal Cord Injury Program.

Dr. Lauryssen has been published in many medical journals including the Journal of Spinal Disorders, Neuroradiology, British Journal of Neurosurgery and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Spinal Disorders and Spine, and he is a guest reviewer for the Journal of Neurosurgery. Dr. Lauryssen is also a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Canadian Medical Council, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the North American Spine Society.
