Sound Science Research. was originally founded in 2001 in Carlsbad, California by two professional musicians and world class audio engineers. Since that time, our ranks have expanded to a team comprised of pediatric experts, researchers, doctors, professors, specialists and a professional business/marketing team.

Sound Science Research is focused on providing products designed to enhance positive stimulation, brain function and general health, while promoting comfort, relaxation, healthier sleep patterns and a peaceful environment for newborns, infants, teens, adults, and even pets.

Current research is being conducted in the areas of using audio and music for healing purposes, and Sound Science Inc. promises to be on the cutting edge of this technology.

The flagship product of Sound Science is built around a breakthrough technology called The WombEffect™, which is an audio simulation of the womb sound environment. This new technology, combined with a proprietary music track, resulted in the Sound Sleep for Babies CD™, (previously known as the Baby Sleep System™ CD).

Currently used in hundreds of day care centers in the U.S., the Sound Sleep for Babies CD is the first of it’s kind, and will soon be an important tool for every new parent or caregiver, and can greatly improve the quality of sleep for all ages, from newborn, to infant, to toddler.

The Womb Effect is gaining new attention. Research and studies have confirmed it’s health benefits, not only promote fast and sound sleep, but also help infants achieve a healthier weight gain. We are also seeing relief from general anxiety disorders, as well as promote an overall sense of peace and calm throughout the environment where this technology is being applied.

The Sound Sleep for Babies CD was created specifically for promoting uninterrupted sleep in newborns, and came into being as the result of experiments between two professional musicians of differing backgrounds and skill sets. Jay Oliver, a world class jazz pianist, composer/producer teamed with William Lenihan, an international jazz guitarist and director of Jazz Studies at Washington University in St. Louis.

During early experiments, the two musicians began integrating relaxing, organic sounds and non-traditional musical tones with their original compositions. Over the course of several years, Jay and Bill discovered that a blend of particular low frequency sounds, combined with a digital simulation of a mother’s prenatal womb sounds, produced remarkable effects on both newborn babies and adults. The WombEffect technology was created and is now being implemented in all of the sleep products for Sound Science Research.
